The New England Direct Marketing Association Announces Winners at the 29th Annual Award Show

6/16/2010
Boston, MA, June 16, 2010 – The Royale in Boston was buzzing with excitement on June 15 as guests anxiously waited to hear their names called as winners of the 2010 New England Direct Marketing Association (NEDMA) Awards. The NEDMA Annual Awards event honors creative excellence and innovation in categories such as print ads, direct mail, catalog, interactive, integrated media campaigns and “Direct Mail on a Shoestring.”

In addition to these categories, NEDMA debuted eight social media categories this year that recognized creative excellence using Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. The awards in the social media categories included: Best Tweets; Best Online Copywriting; Best Blog Copywriting; Best Shopping/Ecommerce Websites; and Most Innovative Online Format.

Winners were selected from a pool of 413 submissions, up 27 percent from last year. All interactive categories experienced increases in applications this year, particularly websites, email and Facebook. However, the largest number of entries continued to be in the category of direct mail, with 39 percent.

Wilde Agency's Nancy Harhut received Best of Show for the agency's integrated media campaign for the Cross-Channel Seminar Program. The agency taking home the most awards this year was LW Robbins Associates, Holliston, MA, with 15 awards. Following closely behind was Overdrive Interactive, Boston, MA, with 14 awards.

“It is my absolute pleasure to be involved in the NEDMA Awards show again this year,” said Erin Sheehan Daly, NEDMA vice president, Awards. “I am always impressed by the caliber and number of entries, and this year is no exception. I am particularly excited by the entries in some of the show's new categories – like blogging, tweeting, and social media. To me, it's an exciting indication of where our industry is heading.”

Come back next week for a pdf of the Winners' Book including the creative teams and images of the winning entries.
